Solider martyred in IED assault in North Waziristan

An improvised explosive gadget assault in North Waziristan led to the martyrdom of a soldier on Saturday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) mentioned.

According to the navy’s media wing, the gadget exploded close to a safety forces test put up on Boya Road in Miranshah.

“Sepoy Sajid, [aged] 33 years embraced shahadat,” mentioned ISPR.

It added that safety forces had “cordoned the area for a clearance operation”.

Earlier this month, three troopers had been martyred and 4 injured after a roadside improvised explosive gadget (IED) planted by terrorists in North Waziristan’s Ghariom sector went off, in line with ISPR.

The troopers had been offering safety to development groups working within the space.

The martyred troopers had been recognized as follows:

– Lt Nasir Hussain Khalid, age 23 years and resident of Muzaffarabad.

– Naik Muhammad Imran, age 33 years, and resident of Faisalabad.

– Sepoy Usman Akhtar, age 30 years resident of Rawalpindi.
