Avatar has taken again its title of the highest-grossing movie ever made, from Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame which routed the previous again in 2019 after its launch.
The James Cameron-directorial has racked up $2.802 billion whereas the Russo Brothers-directed movie stands at an estimated $2.797 billion, Deadline reported.
Following the massive information, Marvel Studios was not too dissatisfied about shedding the spot to its longtime rival.
Marvel Studios’ official Twitter introduced the information and congratulated James Cameron and the creators of the movie, saying: “Congratulations to @JimCameron ,@JonLandau , and ALL of Na’vi Nation for reclaiming the box office crown! We love you 3000.”
Cameron was additionally lauded by the Russo Brothers on Twitter with an Endgame reference, writing: “Passing the gauntlet again to you… @JimCameron.”
Avatar producer Jon Landau issued a press release to Deadline after it grabbed the highest spot, saying: “We’re proud to succeed in this nice milestone, however Jim and I are most thrilled that the movie is again in theaters throughout these unprecedented instances, and we wish to thank our Chinese language followers for his or her help.”
“We’re arduous at work on the following Avatar movies and stay up for sharing the continuation of this epic story for years to come back,” he added.
