British-Pakistani actor Riz Ahmed paid homage to late Bollywood star Irrfan Khan throughout the Gotham Awards on Monday.
The Reluctant Fundamentalist actor obtained the Best Actor Award on Monday for his efficiency in Sound of Metal.
According to movie journalist Anne Hornaday, Ahmed honoured the celebrities that the misplaced in 2020, together with Chadwick Boseman and Irrfan Khan.
Ahmed talked about Khan and stated: “who we lost this year, his words: ‘surrender to the dance of uncertainty.’ It feels like a wobbly time. If we can wobble together we may find each other dancing.”
Back in April 2020, Ahmed had paid tribute to Khan upon his demise following a two-year battle with most cancers.
Turning to Twitter again then, The Night Of actor wrote: “Rest in peace one of many best actors of our time, Irrfan Khan. I by no means met him however he was an inspiration and a hero to me and tens of millions of others. His work was persistently transcendent, he was a guiding gentle for therefore many people.”
“If you have not seen his work, watch The Lunchbox or The Warrior. A real artist who spanned Bollywood and Hollywood and was acclaimed in each. His phrases in a letter to a newspaper about his sickness are a reminder of his stunning thoughts and of life’s fragility. His work will dwell on,” he added.
