Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of National Health Services Dr Nausheen Hamid has stated that the nation will obtain the primary coronavirus vaccine cargo by the tip of this month.
According to Radio Pakistan, Dr Hamid stated that the federal government was “urgently” drafting a database of all private and non-private medical employees to get them inoculated within the first section.
However, the publication didn’t specify which vaccine and from which nation Pakistan would get it.
China’s Sinopharm vaccine
Every week earlier, science minister Fawad Chaudhry stated Pakistan would buy 1.2 million doses of coronavirus vaccine from China’s Sinopharm.
“The Cabinet Committee has decided to initially purchase 1.2 million doses of the vaccine from the Chinese company Sinopharm, which will be provided free of cost to frontline workers in the first quarter of 2021,” the science minister stated on Twitter.
Last month, China had accredited a COVID-19 vaccine developed by an affiliate of state-backed pharmaceutical big Sinopharm, its first accredited shot for basic public use.
Sindh well being minister foresees delay
On January 5, Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho stated that the Centre had hinted that the procurement of the COVID-19 vaccine could possibly be delayed.
“The PTI-led federal government has reported that it will take time for the coronavirus vaccine to arrive,” Dr Pechuho stated, including that it was earlier introduced that the drug could be out there after January 15.
The Sindh minister defined that the provincial authorities would formulate a complete coverage on the coronavirus vaccines, including that preparations in that regard had been accomplished as effectively.
