Lahore ranks third on list of world's most polluted cities

LAHORE:  Punjab’s provincial capital as soon as once more discovered its technique to the checklist of prime 10 cities with the world’s worst air high quality, IQ Air stated Tuesday.

According to IQ Air, Lahore ranked third on the checklist, solely behind Bangladesh’s Dhaka and Kyrgyzstan’s Bishkek.

Lahore recorded a particulate matter (PM) ranking of 183 that classifies the town below the “unhealthy” class of air high quality.

The United States Environmental Protection Agency regards air high quality as passable if the AQI is below 50.

To cut back the smog, the provincial catastrophe administration authority (PDMA) in Punjab has sealed 1,718 brick kilns, 2,658 industries, and impounded 11,782 automobiles until December 12.

The PDMA has arrested 544 individuals for harming the surroundings, in keeping with a report by the authority from November 22.

A day earlier, Lahore and Karachi Monday made their method into the highest 10 rankings of the cities which have the world’s worst air high quality. 

Karachi and Lahore recorded a particulate matter (PM) ranking of 183 and 170, respectively, that classifies the 2 cities below the “unhealthy” class of air high quality.
