KARACHI: Karachi’s well-known meals avenue, Burns Road, is now closed for autos from January 10 as night time has been allotted to pedestrians from 7 pm onwards.
In this regard, a notification has been issued by the Additional Deputy Commissioner II, in response to which the choice will take impact from January 10.
As per the notification, Liaquat Highway, from Fresco to Court Road, can be closed for autos at 7 pm and visitors coming from Aram Bagh can be diverted to MA Jinnah Road and People’s Square.
The street from Fresco Chowk to Fatima Jinnah Women’s College could be designated for pedestrians, whereas residents of the realm could be issued particular stickers for his or her autos to enter, it added.
An space of the street can be allotted to cope with emergencies, the notification added.
Meanwhile, with a purpose to cease meals shops from extending their operations in a method that blocks the best way for pedestrians, markings have been made by the authorities.
