IHC grants bail to Asif Zardari in Rs8 billion suspicious transaction case

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad  Excessive Court docket (IHC) on Wednesday granted bail to former president Asif Ali Zardari on medical grounds. He was being investigated by the Nationwide Accountability Bureau (NAB) within the suspicious transaction of Rs8 billion by means of a faux checking account.

In accordance with Geo Information, the case was heard by Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mosin Akhtar Kayani of the Islamabad Excessive Court docket.

Through the listening to, NAB’s lawyer stated that the reference file within the case has not been submitted but and the matter remains to be being probed.

In response, Asif Zardari’s lawyer Farooq Naik stated that  his shopper had been “remanded for more than two months after his arrest, during which the NAB could have interrogated Asif Zardari.” He added that  Zardari remains to be “ready to answer questions,” if want be.

Farooq Naik sought pre-arrest bail for the previous president on medical grounds, which was granted by the court docket.

The court docket additionally barred the NAB from arresting Asif Zardari.
