'Don't speculate further': DG ISPR dismisses reports of ISI chief being replaced

RAWALPINDI: The director-general of the Inter-Companies Public Relations (ISPR), Main Normal Babar Iftikhar, on Monday dismissed stories that the Inter-Companies Intelligence (ISI) chief was being changed, saying “don’t speculate further”.

In a press convention right here earlier at this time, a reporter whereas chatting with Maj Gen Iftikhar talked about that quite a few issues, together with the “DG ISI’s appointment, Gen Asif, and talk about Gen Faiz”, had been being mentioned on social media.

“Is there any expected move in the near future? Or are these reports not based on truth,” the reporter requested.

The Pakistan Military spokesperson underscored that there needs to be no hypothesis about these items. “An officer completes their term after being appointed at a senior level in the Army,” he stated.

“These are baseless speculations and I request you not to think about these things nor should there be any speculation about these things,” he added. “Appointments within the Military, as an establishment, and particularly on a senior stage are usually not this short-lived and everybody completes their tenure.

“Normally, appointments in the Army as head of an institution are for two years. There’s no truth in these reports whatsoever and I would like to request not to speculate further on this thing. Thank you,” Maj Gen Iftikhar underlined.
