LAHORE: The Punjab authorities will improve 800 faculties to the elementary stage, the province’s schooling minister Murad Ras stated Wednesday.
Below the “Insaf Afternoon School Programme”, the schooling ministry has already upgraded a number of secondary faculties to elementary ones, the schooling minister stated whereas talking on Hum Information present “Subah Say Agay”.
Ras stated that he took the initiative to extend the colleges’ enrolment as he was knowledgeable {that a} “shocking” 70% of pupils dropped out after finishing major college schooling.
“So when I got the data, I thought that building schools would take us nearly 2-3 years and millions of rupees would be spent on it, which we don’t have,” he stated.
“To overcome this challenge, we upgraded primary schools to elementary and asked the teachers — who give lessons in the evening — to teach classes 6,7, and 8,” he stated, including that as compensation, the federal government supplied them with an honorarium.
The elementary faculties that perform within the afternoon, in accordance with Raas, introduced 22,000 college students again to the classroom, including that almost all of them had been ladies.
