Balochistan Assembly passes Rs 451bn budget for fiscal year 2020-21

QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly on Saturday ratified a budget of greater than Rs451 billion for the year 2020-21.

The provincial authorities, amid the coronavirus pandemic, has allotted Rs38 billion for the well being sector.

The meeting accepted 60 non improvement and 33 improvement tasks for which Rs295 billion and Rs156 billion have been allotted.

Upon the approval of the budget, the federal government lawmakers congratulated each other.

Budget unveiled

Last week, the PTI-led Balochistan authorities introduced a budget proposal of Rs465.528 billion.

Balochistan Finance Minister Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, presenting the budget, had mentioned a deficit of Rs87 billion was current within the budget.

The provincial finance minister mentioned that greater than Rs63.5 billion have been allotted for the uplift of the schooling sector.
