As COVID-19 instances decline, SBP permits banks to open branches on Saturdays

KARACHI: As coronavirus instances proceed to say no throughout the nation, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) permitted banks to open a restricted variety of financial institution branches throughout the nation on Saturdays.

As per the central financial institution’s directives, financial institution branches working at enterprise centres and ports will probably be allowed to stay open on Saturdays.

Previously, the SBP had ordered all banks to stay closed on Saturdays owing to an increase in COVID-19 instances throughout the nation.

However, as instances of the virus have declined and regular enterprise, commerce and academic actions resumed throughout the nation this month, the SBP has allowed banks to open their chosen branches on Saturdays.

All branches that open on Saturdays should abide by the coronavirus security protocols and health pointers issued by the SBP.
